As a teacher of the Alexander Technique in South Devon, I generally work on a one to one basis at my practice in Denbury.  In addition, I offer a number of group workshops and  small classes in the South Devon area and  regular 4 week group classes in Denbury Church Cottage, a very comfortable venue.

My own decision to learn the Alexander Technique was the result of suffering chronic headache, backache and stress related illness over a number of years, and finding no relief from a wide range of medical and alternative treatments; the Alexander Technique taught me that if I looked after myself I could be free from pain.

Following a three year full time programme of study, I graduated as a Teacher of the Alexander Technique in 2010, and have been teaching regularly since. I am a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and the Complementary and Natural Health Council, (a NHS recognised quality assurance body). As a member of STAT I adhere to the Society’s Code of Professional Conduct and hold professional indemnity insurance. Prior to learning the Alexander Technique, I  spent 18 years teaching in mainstream education,  my qualifications include a Certificate in Education (Exon) [FE] and a Masters Degree in Education (Exon).

The Alexander Technique has greatly improved my quality of life. I am passionate about my work and hope to help people to understand that the pain they suffer may be something that is linked to how they live their lives and that it is possible to change.
