Activity for November 25 – Coming up on your Toes
Remember to set yourself up for success using The Ready List?
Stop. Take all the intention to come up on your toes, out of your body. Clear all thoughts from your head and become present from your heels to the top of your head.
See From a chosen point of focus, open your eyes to use your peripheral vision.
Breathe Notice the breath coming in and out of your nose
Soft and tall Direct your thinking to create ease and soften your whole body. Send the top of your head away from your feet which are grounded on the floor.
Up on your toes – strengthen the arch whilst aligning the body.
- Prepare to come up on your toes, by placing the back of a chair in front of you. The chair is not to support you, but to enable you to let go of unnecessary tension caused by fear of losing balance.
- Rest your hands lightly on the back of the chair
- Revisit The Ready List….
- Spring up using the arch of your foot and notice whether you have pulled yourself forward.
- Practice this to start with using a mirror, in time you should find a strong balance and come up on to the toes without pulling forward
- Don’t keep trying! Go away and do something else if it seems impossible – you can attempt it another day with a fresh mind!
- Good luck
